Kirkcudbright enjoys a sheltered position in the estuary of the River Dee on the north Solway shore.  Only 25 miles west of Dumfries the town is easily accessible from the M6/M74 motorways and from the Stranraer and the irish sea ferries.

Kirkcudbright itself is just off the main A75 Gretna to Stranraer road. 

The restaurant is directly opposite Maclellans castle which is the focal point of the town.  There is a free car park within 50 metres of the restaurant front door.
